ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25,
SECTION 25-57(A) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO INCLUDE EXEMPTIONS
FOR HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT SITES; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter 25, Section 25-57( a) of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby,
amended to read as follows:
Section 25-57( a) :
Historically significant site in need of tax
relief to encourage preservation means a
structure together with the land necessary for
access and use of the structure which is
determined pursuant to the terms of this
article to be in substantial need of rehabili-
tation or restoration and located either in the
National Register of Historic Places or being
listed in the National Register of Historic
Places as contributing to a historic district
or be located in an H-C, Historical Cultural
Landmark Preservation Overlay District
designated by the City of Beaumont and
certified by the Historical Landmark Commission
as being of historic significance to the city.
Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various

portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
