AN ORDINANCE ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11 TO
PROVIDE A F.EE DISCOUNT FOR YOUTH AND
ELDERLY ORIENTED ACTIVITIES; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter 11 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Beaumont is hereby amended by adding a new Section 11-4( c) to read
as follows:
Section 11-4( c) . Nonprofit organizations which are
youth oriented or elderly oriented shall pay a
license fee which is fifty percent ( 500) of the fees
established herein. The term "youth oriented" shall
mean nonprofit organizations which provide services
to persons more than fifty percent ( 50%) of which
are less than eighteen ( 18) years of age. The term
"elderly oriented" shall mean nonprofit
organizations which provide services to persons more
than fifty percent (500) of which are sixty-five
( 65) years of age or older. The term "nonprofit
organizations" shall mean those organizations which
have been granted an exemption or are exempt from
the payment of federal income taxes.

Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
Section 3 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
