ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING RATES
CHARGED BY AMOCO GAS COMPANY TO AMOCO
PRODUCTION COMPANY TO BE INCREASED BY
OPERATION OF LAW AS PROVIDED IN THE
STATEMENT OF INTENT FILED BY AMOCO GAS
COMPANY WITH THE CITY OF BEAUMONT;
PROVIDING FOR SEVE RABILITY.
WHEREAS, Amoco Gas Company has filed with the City of
Beaumont a statement of intent to change rates charged to Amoco
Production Company to be effective August 1 , 1983 ; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has jurisdiction of this
request under the Public Utility Regulatory Act; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed increase in rates has been agreed
upon by Amoco Production Company and will result in an increase
in rates of approximately $12,000 per year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
THAT the City hereby agrees that the proposed increase in rates as
charged by Amoco Gas Company to Amoco Production Company , as set
out in the statement of intent filed with the City of Beaumont,
shall be allowed to go into effect by operation of law pursuant to
Tex.Rev.Civ .Stat.Ann. art. 1446c , sec. 43 ( Supp. 1982) , such rates
to become effective on August 1 , 1983.
Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
