ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE
AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 78-23, adopted February 21 , 1978,
the City of Beaumont adopted an Affirmative Action Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the Affirmative Action Plan established employment
goals for increased employment of minorities and women through 1982 ;
and,
WHEREAS, the Affirmative Action Plan is under review and an
amended plan will be recommended for adoption by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That the Affirmative Action Plan of the City of Beaumont
adopted by Ordinance 78-23 is hereby extended and shall remain in
effect through July 31, 1983.
Section 2 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of
persons or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of
this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions
of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 3 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
