DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF JEFFERSON
CITY OF BEAUMONT §
WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Beaumont, Texas,
on the 22nd day of March, 1983 , an election at which there
was submitted to all duly qualified resident electors of
said City for their action thereupon, the following proposi-
tion: the issuance of $16 , 000 , 000 drainage improvement
bonds; and
WHEREAS, there was cast at said election:
7, 468 votes , of which number there were cast:
PROPOSITION
FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $16 , 000, 000
DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT BONDS 5, 315 votes
AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $16 , 000 , 000
DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT BONDS 2, 110 votes
as shown in the official election returns heretofore submitted
to the City Council of said City and duly filed with the
City Clerk of said City Council; and
WHEREAS, said election was called and held in all
respects under and in strict conformity with the Constitu-
tion and laws of the State of Texas and the United States of
America; Now, Therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1 : That the election held in and throughout
the City of Beaumont, Texas , on the 22nd day of March, 1983 ,
which election is more particularly described in the preamble
of this ordinance, was duly called and notice thereof was
given and said election was held under and in strict conformity
with law; that only duly qualified resident electors of said
City voted at said election; that due returns of said
election have been made by the proper officers; that said
election has resulted favorable to the issuance of the bonds
mentioned in the preamble of this ordinance; and that a
majority of the qualified vot(_:rs vosting in said election
have voted in favor of the issuance of such bonds and the
levying of such taxes in payment thereof.
Section 2: That the City Council of said City is now
authorized to issue all of the bonds described above, and
that the City Council is authorized to do any and all things
necessary and/or convenient in connection therewith.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 29th day of March, 1983 .
