ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE. AMENDING CHAPTER 28 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES TO INCREASE THE FARES FOR
MONThLY TRANSIT PASSES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF 'BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
That Chapter 28, Section 28-5(5 ) of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Beaumont, Texas be, and the same is hereby, amended
to read as follows :
Section 28-5(5) :
Adult monthly pass card-------------------$15 00
This card entitles an adult purchaser to
unlimited ridership in the month for which such
card is issued and shall be nontransferable.
Section 2.
That Chapter 28, Section 28-6(b) (2) of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Beaumont, Texas be, and the same is hereby,
amended to read as follows :
Section 28-6(b) (2) :
Young persons, elderly and handicapped
persons monthly pass card----------------$7.00
This card entitles the holder to unlimited rider-
ship in the month for which such card is issued and
shall be nontransferable. Persons utilizing the
card must be able to present proof of eligibility,
if requested, when purchasing the pass card. A
person may purchase a pass for another but must
present that person's proof of eligibility when
purchasing the pass card. .
Section 3 .
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of
persons or circumstances., should for any reason be held to be
invalid, such invalidity shall riot affect the remaining portions of
this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions .
of this ordinance are declared to be severable.

Section 4.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
