ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
82-114 BY PROVIDING FOR A JOINT ELECTION WITH
JEFFERSON COUNTY; BY CHANGING THE PLACE FOR
VOTING OF VOTERS WITHIN PRECINCT NO. 6 ; AND
BY PROVIDING A PLACE FOR VOTING BY VOTERS IN
PRECINCT NO. 88; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY.
WHEREAS, on February 23, 1982, Ordinance No. 82-14 was
passed ordering a general municipal election to be held in the City
of Beaumont, Texas on the 3rd day of April, 1982; and,
WHEREAS, Exhibit "A" should be corrected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That Exhibit "A" to Ordinance 82-14 is hereby amended by
adding Precinct No. 88 with judges, alternate judges and voting
places as follows :
PRECINCT JUDGE & ALTERNATE JUDGE
88 Voters residing within the
boundaries of Precinct 88 will vote
at Precinct 87.
and amending the voting places within voting Precinct No. 6 to read
as follows :
PRECINCT JUDGE & ALTERNATE JUDGE
6 - Beaumont-Charlton Pollard Beverly Morgan, Presiding Judge
High School Vickie Lowrey , Alternate Judge
Voters in Precinct 6 residing within
the boundaries of Beaumont
Independent School District will
vote at Precinct 6,
Beaumont-Charlton Pollard High
School. Voters in Precinct 6
residing within the boundaries of
South Park Independent School
District will vote at Precinct 5,
Caldwood Elementary School.

Section 2.
Ordinance 82-14 is hereby amended to add a new Section 12
to read as follows :
The city election shall be held jointly with the
Jefferson County election to consider the
proposition of whether to legalize Bingo games
for charitable purposes. The holding of such
joint election with Jefferson County is subject
to the approval of the Board of Trustees of the
Beaumont Independent School District and South
Park Independent School District.
Section 3.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of
persons or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of
this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions
of this ordinance are delcared to be severable.
