ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 ,
SECTION 21-7 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO PROVIDE AN
ADDITIONAL HOLIDAY ; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY ; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1 .
THAT Section 21-7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Beaumont be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 21-7 - Holidays. The following holidays shall be
declared official holidays for city
employees, to be observed in accordance with
regulations established by the City Manager:
(1) New Year' s Day
(2) Good Friday
(3 ) Memorial Day
(4 ) Independence Day
(5 ) Labor Day
(6 ) Thanksgiving Day
(7 ) Day after Thanksgiving Day
(8 ) Christmas Day
(9) Employees' Birthday
An employee who is not able to observe the holiday
granted on his birthday shall receive no additional pay for
working on his birthday , but will be granted a day off in lieu of
such holiday.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance , or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no wise affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.

Section 3 .
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
