ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN OPTION AGREEMENT WITH
JEFFERSON COUNTY FOR THE PURCHASE OF
19.95 ACRES OF LAND IN THE FRENCH
SUBDIVISION COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE
JEFFERSON COUNTY TUBERCULOSIS HOSPITAL
PROPERTY; AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
THAT the Mayor be, and he is hereby , authorized to
execute an option agreement with Jefferson County, Texas, for the
purchase by the City of three (3) tracts of land in the French
Subdivision, commonly known as the Jefferson County Tuberculosis
Hospital Property, containing a total of 19 .95 acres, at a
consideration of EIGHTY-FIVE THOUSAND AND N01100 ($859000.00)
DOLLARS per tract.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various
portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be
severable.
