HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 80-76 ORDINANCE NO. � c_ '76 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. There is hereby created an Airport Advisory Committee composed of ten members who are resident citizens and qualified voters of the City of Beaumont. The members of the Airport Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the City Council. Of the ten members first appointed, five shall be appointed for a term of one year and five shall be appointed for a term of two years. Thereafter, the term of office of each member of the Airport Advisory Committee shall be two years or until a successor is appointed. The chairman shall be elected annually by a majority of the committee members. Vacancies shall be filled by the City Council for the unexpired term. Members of the Airport Advisory Committee shall serve without compensation and all members of said committee shall be subject to removal at the will and pleasure of the City Council. The duties of the Airport Advisory Committee shall be advisory in nature and it shall advise the City Council, the City Manager and Director of Traffic & Transportation concerning the needs of the Beaumont Municipal Airport and other airport matters and policy . The Airport Advisory Committee shall meet as required by the Chairman or the Director of Traffic and Transportation. Section 2. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances , should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. - � �� - �"� 0C�^ �°-° Section 3 .
