ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN
STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES,
ORDERING REPAIR OR DEMOLITION FOR
CERTAIN STRUCTURES; ORDERING DEMOLITION
FOR CERTAIN STRUCTURES; ORDERING DEMO-
LITION BY THE CITY UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS;
PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVE RAB ZC,I TY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby
finds and declares the buildings located at:
4304 Avenue A ( & Garage)
4345 Avenue A
1764 Carroll
805 DeVilleneuve (Garage)
1745 Elgie
904 Finnis
595 Fletcher
680 Fulton (House, garage &shed)
1375 Grant
1425 Herring (Rear)
485 Jackson
2445 Rockwell (Rear)
3435 Taliaferro
1827 Texas
Next to 948 Van Buren
(Cinder Block Building)
1730 Verone (Rear)
3095 Washington
each to be a public nuisance in that said buildings violate
Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of
age or dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires
that would endanger persons or property.
Section 2.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2 of the
Charter of the City of Beaumont, Sections 10-2 and 14-52 of
the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103. 4
of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the
owner or owners of the following buildings either repair or
demolish and remove said structures within 30 days of the date
of the passage of this ordinance:
1764 Carroll
1745 Elgie
485 Jackson
3435 Taliaferro
1827 Texas
Next to 948 Van Buren

If such action is not taken, request shall be made that the City
Council authorize appropriate City officials to demolish and
remove said structures at the expense of the City of Beaumont
on account of the owner thereof and such expense shall be
assessed as a special tax against the property upon which the
buildings are situated.
Section 3.
In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the
Charter of the City of Beaumont, Sections 10-2 and 14-52 of the
Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103 . 4 of the
Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or
owners of the following described buildings demolish and remove
said structures within 30 days of the date of the passage of
this ordinance:

4345 Avenue A
805 DeVilleneuve (Garage)
904 Finnis
595 Fletcher
680 Fulton (House, garage & shed)
1375 Grant
1425 Herring (Rear)
2445 Rockwell (Rear)
1730 Verone (Rear)
3095 Washington
If such action is not taken, the owners of said buildings shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and said buildings shall be
demolished and removed at the expense of the City of Beaumont
on the account of the owners thereof and such expense shall be
assessed as a special tax against the property upon which said
buildings are situated and a lien shall exist for such special
tax, which lien shall be foreclosed and said expense be recovered
by the City of Beaumont as in the case of any other debt and lien
in favor of the City of Beaumont.

Section 4.
The following structures are hereby ordered to be
demolished and removed by the City of Beaumont on the account
of the owner thereof and such expense of demolition and removal
shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon
which the buildings are situated. The following structures
were heretofore declared to be a public nuisance and a violation
of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City:

1599 Euclid
Section 5.
Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance
shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8
of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
Section 6.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause
or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any
reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect
the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the
various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared
to be severable,.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont
