ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
CONTRACTS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
1980 STREET REHABILITATION &
RESURFACING PROGRAM WITH TROTTI &
THOMSON COMPANY, BELLA COMPANY,
AND A. F. JONES & SON, INC. ;
TRANSFERRING $1, 000,000 FROM THE
UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND BALANCE
TO THE STREET SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT
FUND; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
execute a contract with Trotti & Thomson Company in the
amount of $730,410. 00 for Part I of the fiscal year 1980
Street Rehabilitation & Resurfacing Program. The City Manager
is also authorized to execute a contract with Bella Company
in the amount of $1,540,280. 00 for Part II of the fiscal
year 1980 Street Rehabilitation & Resurfacing Program. The
City Manager is also authorized to execute a contract with
A. F. Jones & Son, Inc. in the amount of $1, 203,540. 00 for
Part III of the fiscal year 1980 Street Rehabilitation &
Resurfacing Program.
Section 2.
There is hereby transferred the sum of $1, 000, 000
from the Unappropriated General Fund Balance to the Street
System Improvement Fund.
Section 3.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause
or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any
reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not
affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such
end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance
are declared to be severable.
Section 4,
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
