ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE
NO. 79-73; APPROPRIATING $160,000 TO THE
CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT TRAFFIC SIGNAL
SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT; AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH SIGNAL
ENGINEERING COMPANY FOR SAID PROJECT;
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1
TO SAID PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
THAT Ordinance 79-73 passed by the City Council of the City of
Beaumont on the 25th day of September, 1979 is hereby repealed.
Section 2.
There is hereby appropriated to the Central Business
District Traffic Signal System project the amount of $160,000 from
unobligated resources in the Traffic Control and Street Lighting Fund.
Section 3.
That the bid of Signal Engineering Company for Central
Business District Traffic Signal System improvements in the amount of
$1,030,721.94 is hereby accepted by the City of Beaumont and the
City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Signal
Engineering Company for furnishing said Central Business District
Signal System improvements.
Section 4.
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute change
order No. 1 to the contract with Signal Engineering Company for the
furnishing of Central Business District Signal System improvements;
said change order No. 1 will reduce the contract to $838,387.62.
Section 5.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of
persons or circumstances, should for any reason be held to be invalid,
such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 6.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
