ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A
PORTION OF AVENUE B DURING CERTAIN
HOURS AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY.
WHEREAS, it has been requested that the portion of
Avenue B Street located between Royal Street and Blanchette
Street be closed on school days to allow students from
Crockett Junior High School to cross from the school to the
school play yard; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that
closing that portion of Avenue B Street will improve the
safety of students crossing the street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the portion of Avenue B Street located between Royal
Street and Blanchette Street be closed on school days only
from 7: 45 a.m. to 5: 30 p.m.
