ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE RETAINING THE
TAXES IMPOSED BY THE LOCAL SALES AND
USE TAX ACT (ARTICLE 1066c, VERNON'S
TEXAS CIVIL STATUTES) ON THE SALE AND
DISTRIBUTION OF GAS AND ELECTRICITY
FOR RESIDENTIAL USE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City of Beaumont, by majority vote of its governing
body, hereby votes to retain the taxes authorized by the Local
Sales and Use Tax Act (Article 1066c, Vernon' s Texas Civil
Statutes) on the receipts from the sale, production, distribu-
tion, lease, or rental of, and the use, storage, or other con-

sumption of gas and electricity for residential use, as autho-
rized by Section 6 of House Bill No. 1, Acts 1978, 65th Legis-
lature, Second Called Session.

Dear Mr. Bullock:
Attached is a copy of Ordinance No. 79-28 passed by the City Council
of the City of Beaumont, Texas on March 27, 1979.
This ordinance is the action of the City's legislative body to
retain the Taxes imposed by the local sales and use Tax Act ( Article
1066c, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes) on the sale and distribution of
Gas and Electricity for residential use.
