Iq ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES; ORDERING REPAIR OR "DEMOLITION FOR CERTAIN STRUCTURES; ORDERING DEMOLITION FOR CERTAIN STRUCTURES; ORDERING DEMOLITION BY THE CITY UNDER CERTAIN CON- DITIONS; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the buildings located at: 1250 Liveoak 2776 Concord 2359 Magnolia (rear) 1473 Concord 2355 Magnolia 765 Elm 885 Arabella 977 and 979 Forrest 987 Forrest 1035 Glasshouse 3330 Dickinson 3600 Block of McHale 2690 Santa Fe 1010 Parry 2770 Virgil (Garage) 2750 Tenaha 2655 Primer 185 Lethia 175 Lethia 395 Lethia 2190 Hemlock (A & B) 2184 Hemlock 1273 & 1275 Sherman 2188 & 2186 Hemlock 1286 Sherman 1265 & 1263 Sherman 135 Plum 2645 & 2657 Primer 3085 South 5th 1745 Church 1560 Annie 2695 Potts 3250 & 3552 Washington 255 E. Threadneedle 591 Harriot 706 Iowa 1895 Hebert 4270 Chaison 1535 Herring 3034 Brenham 898 Grand 560 Shamrock 4390 Wall 1125 McFaddin 1798 & 1798 #2 Ashley 1798 Rear Structure of #2 Ashley 1090 Schwarner 1708 Railroad 1041 Magnolia Avenue 1010 Miller 1028 Miller 1027 Miller 5400 Brock Street, Apts. 1,2 ,3 ,4,5 & 6 1036 Long 1036 Long (Rear) 2180 Hemlock each to be a public nuisance in that said buildings violate Chapter 14 , Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or property. Section 2. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2 of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Sections 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont , Texas, and Section 103 . 4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following buildings either repair or demolish and remove said structures within 30 days of the date of the passage of this ordinance: 1250 Liveoak 1473 Concord 977 & 979 Forrest 1035 Glasshouse 1010 Parry 3085 South 5th 1745 Church 1560 Annie 255 E. Threadneedle 4270 Chaison 898 Grand 560 Shamrock 1125 McFaddin 1041 Magnolia Ave.. 1036 Long 1036 Long (Rear) The owner or owners of the buildings located upon the following described property shall either repair or demolish and remove said structures within 90 days of the date of the passage of this ordinance: 591 Harriot If such action is not taken, request shall be made that the City Council authorize appropriate City officials to demolish and remove said structures at the expense of the City of Beaumont -2- on account of the owner thereof and such expense shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which the buildings are situated. Section 3. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Sections 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103. 4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner of owners of the following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within 30 days of the date of the passage of this ordinance: 2776 Concord 2359 Magnolia (rear) 2355 Magnolia 765 Elm 885 Arabella 987 Forrest 3330 Dickinson 3600 Block of McHale 2690 Santa Fe 2770 Virgil (Garage) 2750 Tenaha 2655 Primer 185 Lethia 175 Lethia 395 Lethia 2190 Hemlock (A & B) 2184 Hemlock 1273 & 1275 Sherman 2188 & 2186 Hemlock 1286 Sherman 1265 & 1263 Sherman 135 Plum 2645 & 2657 Primer 2695 Potts 3250 & 3552 Washington 706 Iowa 1895 Hebert 1535 Herring 3034 Brenham 4390 Wall 1798 & 1798 #2 Ashley 1798 Rear Structure of #2 Ashely 1090 Schwarner 1708 Railroad 1010 Miller 1028 Miller 1027 Miller 5400 Brock Street Apts. 1,2, 3,4,5, &6 2180 Hemlock If such action is not taken, the owners of said buildings shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and said buildings shall be demolished and removed at the expense of the City of Beaumont on -3- the account of the owner thereof; and such expense shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which said buildings are situated and a lien shall exist for such special tax, which lien shall be foreclosed and said expense be recovered by the City of Beaumont as in the case of any other debt and lien in favor of the City of Beaumont. Section 4. Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances, Beaumont, Texas.
