ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES, ORDERING REPAIR OR DEMOLITION FOR CERTAIN STRUCTURES; ORDERING DEMOLITION FOR CERTAIN STRUCTURES; ORDERING DEMO- LITION BY THE CITY UNDER CERTAIN CON- DITIONS; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the buildings located at: 1127 Magnolia 1456 Isla 2085 Tulane 1999 Ives 3350 Hall 4010 Willie Mae (front & rear) 3355 Hall #52 South 13th Street 2505 Blanchette 2925 San Jacinto 3490 W. Euclid 2265 Harriot 795 Lincoln 865 Lincoln 1859 Leiper 1895 Leiper 1081 Grant (front & rear) 1120 Sherman 1130 Sherman 1140 Sherman 1160 Sherman 2055 Hemlock (shed) 1550 Fulton 1605 Levy each to be a public nuisance in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason or age or dilapidated con- dition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or property. Section 2. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2 of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Sections 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following buildings either repair or demolish and remove said structures within thirty (30) days of the date of the passage of this ordinance: 2085 Tulane 1999 Ives 4010 Willie Mae (front & rear) 2925 San Jacinto 2265 Harriot 865 Lincoln 1081 Grant (front & rear) If such action is not taken, request shall be made that the City Council authorize appropriate City officials to demolish and remove said structures at the expense of the City of Beaumont on account of the owner thereof and such expense shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which the buildings are situated. Section 3. In accordance with .Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Sections 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within 30 days of the date of the passage of this ordinance: 1127 Magnolia 1456 Isla 1999 Ives 3350 Hall 3355 Hall #52 South 13th Street 2505 Blanchette 3490 W. Euclid 795 Lincoln 1859 Leiper 1895 Leiper 1120 Sherman 1130 Sherman 1140 Sherman 1160 Sherman 2055 Hemlock (shed) 1550 Fulton 1605 Levy If such action is not taken, the owners of said buildings shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and said buildings shall be demolished and removed at the expense of the City of Beaumont on the account of the owner thereof and such expense shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which said buildings are situated and a lien shall exist for such special tax, which lien shall be foreclosed and said expense be recovered by the City of -2- Beaumont as in the case of any other debt and lien in favor of the City of Beaumont. Section 4. The following structures are hereby ordered to be demolished and removed by the City of Beaumont on the account of the owner thereof and such expense of demolition and removal shall be assessed as a special tax against the property upon which the buildings are situated. The following structures were heretofore declared to be a public nuisance and a violation of Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont: 2095 Kingsley 1486 Concord 1482 Concord 494 Neicy 284 Chapin Across from 2768 Adler 765 Maple 795 Maple 680 Prince Section 5. Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
