ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE
LEVYING, ASSESSING AND COLLECTING OF AD
VALOREM TAXES FOR THE TAX YEAR 1981-1982
FOR THE PURPOSES OF PROVIDING A GENERAL
FUND, AND A SINKING FUND TO MEET THE
PAYMENT OF ALL BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT AND THE PAYMENT OF
ACCRUING INTEREST THEREON; AND PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT :
Section 1 .
THAT there shall be and is hereby levied and shall be assessed and
collected for the tax year 1981-1982, for municipal purposes only ,
an ad valorem tax of One and Twelve/100 ($1 . 12) Dollar on each One
Hundred Dollars' ($100.00) worth of property located within the
present city limits of the City of Beaumont made taxable by law ,
which said taxes when collected shall be for purposes hereinafter
set forth as follows :
For the General Fund $0.79
For the purpose of paying .33
the accruing interest
and to provide a sinking
fund for the payment of
the entire bonded in-
debtedness of the City
of Beaumont
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a
particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason
be held to be invalid , such invalidity shall in no wise affect the
remaining portions of this ordinance, and to such end the
provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
