81-53 VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF
LIBERTY STREET LOCATED 500 FEET EAST OF 23RD
STREET IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON
COUNTY, TEXAS, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT Ordinance No. 81-53 passed by the City Council of
the City of Beaumont on the 14th day of July, 1981, abandoning a
portion of Liberty Street 500 feet east of 23rd Street be
corrected by describing the abandoned portion as follows:
Being an unimproved 875 foot portion of
Liberty Street right-of-way, the same being
60-feet in width, bounded on the north by
Perlstein Park and Lots 1-8 of Block 6 , Laurel
Heights Addition, and bounded on the south by
Lots 26-31, Block 4 , and Lots 1-6, Block 5,
Laurel Heights Addition, and a previously
abandoned portion of Missouri Pacific Railroad
right-of-way, said portion to be abandoned
beginning at a point 500 feet east of the east
right-of-way line of 23rd Street and extending
east a distance of 875 feet, which includes
the following described tract:
BEING a 20067 square foot tract of land
located in Liberty Avenue right-of-way in the
Laurel Heights Addition, said tract of land
being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the southeast corner of Perlstein
Park, said point also being in the north
right-of-way line of Liberty Avenue, locating
the northwest and beginning corner of the
tract of land herein described;
THENCE North 88 021130" East with said line a
distance of 284. 12 feet to a point for a
corner;
THENCE South 45 057118" East a distance of
22.47 feet to a point for a corner;
THENCE South 67 049130" East a distance of
108.71 feet to a point for a corner in the
south right-of-way line of Liberty Avenue;
THENCE South 88 021130" West with said line a
distance of 400 feet to a point for a corner;
THENCE North 00 055130" West a distance of 60
feet to the place of beginning and containing
20067 square feet, per plat annexed;
and further depicted on the plat attached
hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein
for all purposes.
