WHEREAS bids were received for a six (6) month contract for the purchase of
sodium hydroxide for use by the Public Works Department, Water Utilities Division; and,
WHEREAS, Univar USA, Houston, Texas, submitted a bid at the unit price of$230
per dry ton with an estimated total contract expenditure of$69,000; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Univar USA,
Houston, Texas, should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Univar USA, Houston, Texas, for a six (6) month contract for
the purchase of sodium hydroxide for use by the Public Works Department,Water Utilities
Division, at the price of $230 per dry ton with an estimated total contract expenditure of
$69,000 be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 3rd day of June,
2003.
