ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
00-101, BY GRANTING A ONE (1) YEAR TIME
EXTENSION FOR A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT
ALLOWING THE OPERATION OFA RENTAL HALL IN
AN RCR (RESIDENTIAL CONSERVATION AND
REVITALIZATION) DISTRICT AT 1685 PARK
STREET, BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY,
TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Beaumont issued a Specific Use Permit
on November, 28, 2000, by Ordinance No. 00-101 to allow the operation of a rental hall in
an RCR (Residential Conservation and Revitalization) District, Beaumont, Jefferson
County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, Section 30-26(G) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont
provides that a Specific Use Permit shall be valid for a period of two (2)years from the date
of issuance and shall become null and void unless construction or use is substantially
underway during said two(2)year period or unless an extension of time is approved by the
City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the property owner, Yvonne Como, requested an extension of time for
a period of an additional one (1) year to complete the financial arrangements and to
complete the requirements for occupancy; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the granting of a one (1)
extension of time for the Specific Use Permit is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont
and its citizens, subject to the hereinafter described conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
That Ordinance 00-101 granting a Specific Use Permit to Yvonne Como, her legal
representatives, successors and assigns, for the operation of a rental hall in an RCR
(Residential Conservation and Revitalization)District, Beaumont,Jefferson County,Texas
and it is hereby, amended to extend the time for the continuance of the Specific Use Permit
from November 28, 2000 to November 28, 2003.
Section 2.
That the Specific Use Permit shall be, in all other respects, subject to all of the
applicable regulations and conditions contained in Ordinance 00-101, as approved by the
City Council of the City of Beaumont on November 28, 2000.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 29th day of
