HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 02-067 ORDINANCE NO. 02-067 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT TO ALLOW A HALFWAY HOUSE FOR ADULT FEDERAL OFFENDERS IN A GC-MD (GENERAL COMMERCIAL-MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING) DISTRICT LOCATED AT 3282 COLLEGE STREET IN THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS. WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Beaumont desires to issue a specific use permit to Dismas Charities, Inc. to allow a halfway house for adult federal offenders in a GC-MD (General Commercial-Multiple Family Dwelling) District located at 3282 College Street, being Lot 8, Block 2, Beaumont Medical Plaza,City of Beaumont,Jefferson County, Texas, containing 0.92 acres, more or less, as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the issuance of such specific use permit is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont and its citizens, subject to the hereinafter described conditions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That a specific use permit to allow a halfway house for adult federal offenders in a GC-MD (General Commercial-Multiple Family Dwelling) District located at 3282 College Street, being Lot 8, Block 2, Beaumont Medical Plaza, City of Beaumont,Jefferson County, Texas, containing 0.92 acres more or less, as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, is hereby granted to Dismas Charities, Inc., their legal representatives, successors and assigns, subject to the following conditions: W The facility not housing more than 40 federal offenders at any time. ■r At all times it remain a housing facility for only community custody level offenders. W There specifically be no felons convicted of crimes of a violent nature or any type of sexual offenses, specifically predatory sexual offenses An 8' tall wood privacy fence extend along the entire north property line and along the east and west property lines, extending from the rear property line to even with the northeast and northwest corners of the building. Section 2. That the specific use permit herein granted is expressly issued for and in accordance with each particular and detail of the site plan attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and made a part hereof for all purposes. Section 3. Notwithstanding the site plan attached hereto, the use of the property herein above described shall be in all other respects subject to all of the applicable regulations contained in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, as amended.
