WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has been notified by the State of Texas, Office
of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, that it is eligible to receive $76,563 in funding
through the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City of Beaumont hereby waives the application of funds available to the
City of Beaumont through the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Grant and designates
Jefferson County as the governmental entity to receive the$76,563 in funds. The City
hereby agrees to participate in the Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition created by
Jefferson County and names Police Chief Tom Scofield to represent the City on the
Coalition.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 8th day of
January, 2002.
