WHEREAS, on November 27, 2001, City Council approved a resolution authorizing
seven (7) projects for submittal to the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission -
Metropolitan Planning Organization (SETRPC-MPO) as candidates for selection and
inclusion into the Jefferson, Orange, Hardin Regional Transportation Study (JOHRTS)
Metropolitan Transportation Plan - 2025 (MTP-2025); and,
WHEREAS, the following two (2) candidate projects are also to be included:
Mass Transit Fleet Replacement $6.2 million
Alternative Fuel Station $250,000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the following two (2) candidate projects are also to be included in the South East
Texas Regional Planning Commission - Metropolitan Planning Organization (SETRPC-
MPO)as candidates for selection and inclusion into the Jefferson,Orange, Hardin Regional
Transportation Study (JOHRTS) Metropolitan Transportation Plan - 2025 (MTP-2025):
Mass Transit Fleet Replacement Purchase 20(20)alternatively fueled buses to $6.2 million
replace the existing fleet of diesel powered buses
Alternative Fuel Station Construction of an alternative fuel station at the $250,000
present Transit maintenance facility located at
Park and Milam Streets
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the18th day of
December, 2001.
