WHEREAS, bids were received for a six (6) month contract for the purchase of
sodium hydroxide for use by the Public Works, Water Utilities Division in the water
production process; and,
WHEREAS,Altivia, Houston, Texas, submitted a bid for a six(6)month contract for
the purchase of sodium hydroxide at the unit cost of$244.90 per dry ton with an estimated
total contract expenditure of$73,470; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Altivia, Houston,
Texas, should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Altivia, Houston, Texas, for a six (6) month contract for the
purchase of sodium hydroxide for use by the Public Works, Water Utilities Division in the
water production process at the unit cost of $244.90 per dry ton with an estimated total
contract expenditure of $73,470 be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 16th day of
October, 2001.
