WHEREAS, the lawsuit of Mary Sonnier-Ligon v. City of Beaumont, et al was
discussed in an Executive Session properly called and held on Tuesday, September 11,
2001; and,
WHEREAS, the Council desires to authorize the settlement of the lawsuit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Attorney be, and he is hereby authorized to settle the lawsuit of Mary
Sonnier- Ligon; to acknowledge that an employment service credit error was made which
error it is agreed should be corrected and to pay such amounts as are necessary to correct
such error and attorney fees in a sum not to exceed $7500.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 91h day of
October, 2001.
