BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: WHEREAS Council Member Audwin Samuel is a member of the State Bar of Texas and, under State Bar Ethics Rules is prohibited from representing persons charged of a criminal offense by employees of the City of Beaumont unless the City grants permission for such representation ; and, WHEREAS, the City desires to grant such permission subject to complete disclosure by Councilman Audwin Samuel concerning the nature of each such charge, the identity of the accused and the time and date of the event; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT Council Member Audwin Samuel is hereby authorized as an attorney-at-law of the State of Texas to represent persons who are charged of criminal activity by employees of the City of Beaumont so long as Councilman Samuel makes complete disclosure concerning the nature of the event as directed by the City Attorney and the City Manager. The City Attorney and the City Manager are hereby authorized to revoke this consent on a case-by-case basis should a conflict appear concerning the representation. In such instance, the City Attorney and the City Manager shall notify Councilman Audwin Samuel in writing of the existence of the conflict and Councilman Samuel will discontinue representation of such individual in an orderly fashion PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the �s/mot day of 11999.
