WHEREAS bids were received on July 6, 1999 for a six (6)-month contract to
purchase sodium hydroxide to be utilized by the Water Utilities Department in the water
production process; and,
WHEREAS, Old World Industries, Northbrook, Illinois, submitted a bid in the
amount of$99 per ton with an estimated total expenditure of$29,700; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Old World
Industries, Northbrook, Illinois, should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Old World Industries, Northbrook, Illinois in the amount of$99
per ton with an estimated total expenditure of $29,700 for a six (6)-month contract to
purchase sodium hydroxide to be utilized by the Water Utilities Department in the water
production process be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
