WHEREAS, on May 12, 1998, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
awarded a contract to Brystar Contracting Inc. for the construction of the Walden Road
Pavement Widening Project in the amount of$5,120,912.70; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $17,720.71 was required to
change the size of a sanitary sewer force main from 8" to 10"; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $32,916.67 was required to
construct sidewalks on both sides of Walden Road from Willow Bend Drive to Champions
Drive; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $736,032.87, increasing the
contract amount to $5,907,591.95, is required to extend the Walden Road Construction
Project from east IH-10 to Fannett Road;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the Interim City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to execute Change Order
No. 3 in the amount of$736,032.87.
