WHEREAS, on May 26, 1998, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
awarded a contract to Coatings, Inc. in the amount of $217,432.00 for the repair and
repainting of the interior of the 1,000,000 Gallon Elevated Storage Tank located at
Washington Boulevard and Municipal Drive; and
WHEREAS, during the course of the project, Change Order No. 1 in the amount
of$7,614.00 is required to adjust the contract amount for "extra work" to have Contractor
remove and reroute antenna coax cable; replace an overflow pipe flapper valve, replace
broken pipe brackets, replace roof ladder roller system, modification for the Saf-T-Gate
Handrail, provide new seal opening in the riser around fill line and extend a water
compartment ladder to the floor of the tank; and
WHEREAS, Change Order Number Two is required to adjust the contract amount
for disposal of hazardous waste according to regulations mandated by the United States
Environmental Protection Agency in the amount of$3,000.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, to execute Change Orders No.
1 and No. 2 increasing the contract in the amount of $10,614.00. The project, as stated
above, be and the same is herein accepted and the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to make final payment in the amount of$21,029.00 to Coatings, Inc.
