WHEREAS bids were received on Monday, December 14, 1998 for providing a six-
month annual contract to furnish sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) for the Water Utilities
Department, Water Production Division; and,
WHEREAS, Coastal Products and Chemicals, Inc., Houston, Texas, submitted a
bid in the amount of $203.00 per dry ton for an estimated six-month expenditure of
$60,900; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Coastal
Products and Chemicals, Inc., Houston, Texas should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Coastal Products and Chemicals, Inc., Houston, Texas in the
amount of $203.00 per dry ton for an estimated six-month expenditure of $60,900 be
accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the day of
1999.
