WHEREAS, on April 24, 2001, City Council enacted Resolution No. 01-099
authorizing the City Manager to apply for a grant in the amount of $608,867 for the
Southeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force; and,
WHEREAS, the Task Force has learned that additional funding may be available
for the FY 2002 grant year; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the application for new funding from
the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority for the FY 2002 operations of the
Southeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force is necessary and desirable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to apply for and execute all necessary
documents to authorize acceptance, receive and disburse grant funds, and to execute
inter-local agreements related to the operation of the Southeast Texas Auto Theft Task
Force for FY 2002.
