ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 16 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO AMEND SECTIONS 16-3,
16-10, 16-14 AND 16-5 CONCERNING THE NAME OF THE
LIBRARY SYSTEM, THE LOAN PERIOD, WHAT ITEMS ARE
AVAILABLEAND ROOM RENTAL RATES; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL AND
PROVIDING A PENALTY.
Section 1.
THAT Chapter16, Sections 16-3, 16-10, 16-14 and 16-5 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Beaumont be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 16-3. Library name; branches.
The Library of the city shall be known as the Beaumont Public Library System.
Section 16-10. Failing to return materials -- Unlawful.
It shall be unlawful for any person to fail to return library materials borrowed from
the Beaumont Public Library System.
Section 16-14. Late Charges; processing fees

Books Two weeks with one $0.10
renewal for two weeks
Section 16-15. Rental for use of meeting room.
The rental rate for the use of a meeting room shall be ten dollars ($10.00) an hour
with a minimum use of three (3) hours. If food is to be served, a refundable deposit of
twenty-five ($25.00) shall be paid in advance of the use.
Section 2.
That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the
application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances, should for any reason
be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be severable.
Section 3.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, including conflicting
portions of the City Budget, are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
Section 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the
extent of the conflict only.
