WHEREAS, bids were received for the construction of a 5-million gallon
(MG) clearwell and high-service/filter backwash pump station at the water production
plant on Pine Street; and,
WHEREAS, Blacksher & Sons, Inc. submitted a bid in the amount of $6,575,000;
and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Blacksher &
Sons, Inc. should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted in the amount of$6,575,000 by Blacksher & Sons, Inc. for the
construction of a 5-million gallon (MG) clearwell and high-service/filter backwash pump
station at the water production plant on Pine Street be accepted by the City of
Beaumont and the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract for such
project.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 24th day of
April, 2001.
