BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
WHEREAS, it is prudent for the City and for Jefferson County to support legislation
to allow Jefferson County to assess county hotel/motel taxes (up to 2%) to be used for
increased tourism;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
THAT the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
Section 2.
THAT the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby supports legislation to allow
Jefferson County to assess hotel/motel taxes (up to 2%).
Section 3.
That the City Clerk shall send a copy of this Resolution to Representatives Ritter,
Representative Deshotel and Senator Bernson.
