The City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas, met in a special session on February 15, 2001,
at the City Hall Council Chambers, 801 Main Street, Beaumont, Texas, at 12:00 p.m. to consider
the following:
OPENING
Invocation Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call
* Public Comment: Persons may speak on scheduled agenda items
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 12:01 p.m. Councilmember Samuel gave the
invocation. Councilmember Cokinos led the pledge of allegiance.
Present at the meeting were: Mayor Moore, Mayor Pro Tern Goodson, Councilmembers Smith,
Cokinos,Ames, and Samuel. Councilmember Patterson was absent. Also present were Stephen
J. Bonczek, City Manager;Tyrone Cooper,Assistant City Attorney; and Barbara Liming, City Clerk.
*Public Comment: Persons may speak on scheduled agenda items No one wished to address
the item.
GENERAL BUSINESS
1. Authorize a license to encroach to William and Stephanie Tolin into the utility easement at
835 Edson Drive.
Mayor Pro Tern Goodson moved to approve Resolution No. 01-041 authorizing a License
to Encroach to William M. Tolin, into the ten foot (10') utility easement on the south side of
Lot 1, Block 2,Terrace Estates Addition,835 Edson Drive. Council member Ames seconded
the motion. MOTION PASSED.
Ayes: Mayor Moore Mayor Pro Tern Goodson, Councilmembers Smith,
Cokinos, Ames, and Samuel
Noes: None
COMMENTS
* Councilmembers comment on various matters
Mayor Pro Tern Goodson announced that the Convention and Visitors Bureau has invited Council
to attend a scheduled retreat on March 6, 2001 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Collier Park to
discuss their long-range plans.
* Public Comment (Persons are limited to 3 minutes) No comments were received.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 12:06 p.m.
