WHEREAS, on May 12, 1998, City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into
a contract with Brystar Contracting, Inc., for the construction of the Walden Road
Pavement Widening Project in the amount of$5,120,921.70; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 for $17,720.71, Change Order No. 2 for
$32,916.67 and Change Order No. 3 for$736,032.87 were created to increase the contract
amount to $5,907,591.95; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 4 and Final is being requested to decrease the
contract amount by $17,123.80 to adjust the estimated quantities actually used during the
construction of the project, decreasing the final contract amount to $5,890,468.15;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 4
and Final, as stated above, with Brystar Contracting, Inc. The project as stated above be
and the same is herein accepted and the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to
make final payment in the amount of$308,826.35.
