A ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN STRUCTURES TO BE PUBLIC NUISANCES AND ORDERING THEIR DEMOLITION, RENOVATION AND REMOVAL; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Beaumont hereby finds and declares the buildings located at: 6. 623 Alma 22. 5190 Pine Burr 7. 2475-77 Angelina 23. 2120 Potts 8. 2475 Angelina (Garage Apartment) 24. 6610 Rebecca 9. 1379 Cable 25. 2230 South 10. 4298 Detroit 26. 2990 South 11. 1378 Ewing 27. 2990 South (Rear Structure) 12. 1386 Ewing 28. 1130 Stewart (Duplex) 13. 1388 Ewing 29. 1578 Texas 14. 835 Jefferson (Commercial) 30. 4080 Ulan 15. 3940 Johnstown 31. 1043 Vermont 16. 9170 Lawrence Drive 32. 2985 Amarillo 17. 2620 Unson 33. 970 Avenue F 18. 8066 Mitchell 34. 4595 Buffalo 19. 3755 Morningside 35. 258 Hampton Lane 20. 1161 Park (Commercial) 36. 3545 Marie F21, 2725 Park (Commercial/Church) to be public nuisances in that said buildings violate Chapter 14, Section 14-50 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont and are for want of repairs, or by reason of age or GAMORDINANCOLAPSTR dilapidated condition, likely to cause or promote fires that would endanger persons or property. Section In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described buildings demolish and remove said structures within ten (10) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 6. 623 Alma 19. 3755 Morningside 7. 2475-77 Angelina 21. 2725 Park (Commercial/Church) 8. 2475 Angelina (Garage Apartment) 22. 5190 Pine Burr 9. 1379 Cable 23. 2120 Potts 10. 4298 Detroit 24. 6610 Rebecca 11. 1378 Ewing 25. 2230 South 12. 1386 Ewing 26. 2990 South 13. 1388 Ewing 27. 2990 South (Rear Structure) 15. 3940 Johnstown 28. 1130 Stewart (Duplex) 16. 9170 Lawrence Drive 30. 4080 Ulan 17. 2620 Linson 31. 1043 Vermont 18. 8066 Mitchell If the property owner fails to comply within ten (10) days, Council orders that the property be demolished without further notification to the property owner(s) or City Council action. In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described building secure the structure and enter into a work program within forty-eight (48) hours, demolish the garage and raze or repair the structure within one- hundred twenty (120) days from the effective date of this ordinance: 4. 1402 Maple If the property owner fails or refuses to enter into a work program or repair or demolish the structure within the time limit set herein, the City is authorized to demolish the structure without further Council action. Section . In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described building file for a Special Use Permit within thirty (30) days, enter into a work program and raze or repair the structure within ninety (90) days from the effective date of this ordinance: 14. 835 Jefferson (Commercial) GAMORDWANCZR APSTR. If the property owner fails or refuses to enter into a work program or repair or demolish the structure within the time limit set herein, the City is authorized to demolish the structure without further Council action. Section 5 . In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described building secure the structure within forty-eight (48) hours, enter into a work program within sixty (60) days and raze or repair the structure within one-hundred twenty (120) days from the effective date of this ordinance: 20. 1161 Park(Commercial) If the property owner fails or refuses to enter into a work program or repair or demolish the structure within the time limit set herein, the City is authorized to demolish the structure without further Council action. 5ection 6 . In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described building secure the structure within forty-eight (48) hours, enter into a work program within forty-eight (48) hours and raze or repair the structure within sixty (60) days from the effective date of this ordinance: 29. 1578 Texas GAMORDINANODILAPSTR. If the property owner fails or refuses to enter into a work program or repair or demolish the structure within the time limit set herein, the City is authorized to demolish the structure without further Council action. Section 7 . In accordance with Article XVII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Beaumont, Section 10-2 and 14-52 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas, and Section 103.4 of the Standard Building Code, it is hereby ordered that the owner or owners of the following described buildings raze or repair said structures within ninety (90) days of the effective date of this ordinance: 32. 2985 Amarillo 35. 258 Hampton Lane 33. 970 Avenue F 36. 3545 Marie 34. 4595 Buffalo The property owner is ordered to immediately enter into a work program concerning the structure. If the property owner fails or refuses to enter into a work program or repair or demolish the structure within the time limit set herein, the City is authorized to demolish the structure without further Council action. Section 8 . The following structures were previously declared to be dangerous by the City Council and are hereby ordered to be demolished without further notice to the owners: 1. 1445 Broadway 3. 701 Grant(2037-57-61-63 Irving) 2. 2275 Broadway 5. 1329 Park (Commercial) GAMORDINANODILAPSTR. Section 9 . That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance and, to such end, the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 100 That any person who violated any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
