HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 00-04 ORDINANCE NO. — � ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26, SECTION 26-23 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO ESTABLISH MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM SPEEDS IN CERTAIN ZONES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: Section 1. That Chapter 26, Section 26-23 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be, and the same is hereby amended to include the following: Section 26-23: LIMITS DIRECTION SPEED IN MILES PER HOUR STREET OF ZONES OF TRAVEL MAXIMUM MINIMUM College St. (a) From a point 90 feet east of the centerline E&W 35 (US HWY 90) of the Santa Fe Railroad tracks to a point 30 feet west of the centerline of Hillebrandt Bayou. (Date of Survey (b) From a point 30 feet west of centerline of E&W 45 5/3, 14, 17 & Hillebrandt Bayou to a point 60 feet west of 18/99) the centerline of 23rd Street (c) From a point 60 feet west of the centerline E&W 50 of 23rd Street to a point 200 feet west of the centerline of FM 364 (Major Drive) (d) From a point 200 feet west of the E &W 55 centerline of FM 364 (Major Drive) to a point 60 feet east of the centerline of Wescalder. (e) From a point 60 feet east of the centerline E&W 60 of Wescalder to the west city limits. Section 2. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to a particular person, or to a particular set of circumstances, should for any reason be held invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affect the remaining portions and provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only. Section 4. That any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of Beaumont, Texas.
