ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 '/,
ARTICLE II, SECTION 2 '/ -13, (D) AND SECTION 2 '/ -16
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT CONCERNING THE REGULATION OF ALARM
SYSTEMS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING
FOR REPEAL AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
THAT Chapter 2 '/, Article 11, Section 2 '/ -13, (d) and Section 2 '/ -16 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Beaumont be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 11. BURGLARY AND ROBBERY ALARMS
Sec. 2 '/2 - 13. Permit Application.
(d) A permit shall be issued for a one (1) year term beginning on the date of
issuance. The expiration date on all active permits expiring on May 31,
2000 shall be automatically extended to July 31,2000.
Sec. 2 '/z - 16. Renewal; term.
An application to renew a permit shall be submitted to the City with a ten ($10)
dollar fee due on or before the expiration date on the permit. Active permits which have
been extended to expire on July 31, 2000 shall be renewed for various periods between
one (1) and two (2) years with the minimum renewal period being one (1) year. The City
shall determine the length of the term of the renewal permit. The fee shall be prorated to
equal the renewal period. The term of subsequent renewals will be one (1) year.
Section 2.
THAT if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or
the application of same to a particular set of persons or circumstances should for any
reason held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining portions of this

ordinance, and to such end the various portions and provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be severable.
Section 3.
THAT all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the
extent of the conflict only.
Section 4.
THAT any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall, upon
conviction, be punished as provided in Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Beaumont, Texas.
