ORDINANCE NO. QZ-9�
ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING A PORTION OF
HIGHLAND AVENUE NORTH OF EUCLID AVENUE TO THE
DEAD-END OF M.L.K., JR. PARKWAY, BEAUMONT, TEXAS,
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT a portion of Highland Avenue north of Euclid Avenue to the dead-end of M.L.K., Jr.
Parkway, being a 0.34 acre tract or parcel of land, being a portion of Lots Twelve (12),
Thirteen (13) and Fourteen (14) in Block Two (2) of Arlington Addition to the City of
Beaumont, according to the map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 1 at Page 70 of the
Map Records of Jefferson County, Texas, together with a portion of a Fifteen (15) foot wide
alley out of said Block Two (2), said alley being vacated and closed by City of Beaumont
Ordinance recorded in Volume 414 on Page 342 of the Deed Records of Jefferson County,
Texas, said 0.34 acre tract being a portion of that certain tract of land situated within the
evident City of Beaumont right-of-way of Highland Avenue (approximately 60 feet wide)
as extended through said Block Two (2) of Arlington Addition to the City of Beaumont, said
0.34 acre tract or parcel of land being all of the Highland Avenue right-of-way extending
north from the north right-of-way line of Euclid Avenue to the southwesterly right-of-way
line of M.L.K., Jr. Parkway (Spur 380), as shown on Exhibit"A" attached hereto, are hereby
abandoned. A drainage and general utility easement is to be retained by the City of
Beaumont extending along and across the 0.34 acres of Highland Avenue to be
abandoned.
